Oregon

I wanted to share a story with y'all so here my girlfriend and I are at our local wilco to get our girls some scratch and in the chicken isle I over heard a lady say which one of these breeds lay the biggest brown eggs and I was thinking I'll b nice go over say excuse me ma am I over heard you and it would b the golden sex links and grab the breed chart and showed her and then next thing you know I was explaining the laying patterns change with the seasons and at this point another lady was asking me more questions so my girlfriend continued talking to lady number 1 and I started talking to this other lady.....lady number 2 she was asking about coop designs and such as I'm talking to lady 2 a guy walks up and say I got a question figured since you got a cowboy hat on you gotta know something and had to explain the brooding process and feed and such well hopefully we will have three new members tonight so a ten min trip turbbinto a 40 min lecture you don't realize how much you know about something until ppl start asking lol
this is very true, its fun to be able to help people like that, knowing enough about the matter and being able to go ahaed and teach people how to do it that is so cool...

honestly i have no clue im just saying what the prices ive seen on turkeys around here i got broad breasted and im just going to sell them at 3 dollars a pound cause i dont think someone will buy a 50 pund turke at 7 dollars a pound

I was amazed at how much a heritage breed turkey would go for when I looked into it last year...they were going for $150+ for a 12-18 lb bird...

He is a broad breasted. Someone told me I can sell him for 25-50 at 7 months. Does that sound right???
No, I'd start advertising him now (though I'd guess that he'll sell easier in another month) and ask $75...that's still a bargain for what size he'll be by Thanksgiving...I wouldn't take a dime less than $50 for him, unless you get desperate, though I'd guess he'll get snatched up with plenty of time to spare for turkey day...
