I am not here yet but I will be by the end of the summer! We are moving from sunny and warm Florida. Looking forward to being able to swim in the lakes without worrying if an alligator will eat my toes.
You can't actually swin in the waters on this coast unless you are used to it. I'm from Florida and these waters are waaaaay too cold to enjoy like we did in Florida. Also, the fishing is ten times different than Florida. Not nearly as much fun as the west coast.

We got our first batch of chickens in february and they are doing well in their new outdoor coop and run with some backyard freedom. so far we have not had to clip any wings to keep them in the backyard but they are only 9 weeks old. one is likely a roo so he will be rehomed in the future likely when he crows or misbehaves since we cant have roos in the city. think i have a country home lined up for him, so far he is such a sweetheart although i dont know for sure what he is other than he's not the buff orpington he was supposed to be. his legs are the wrong color for an orpington and he has a rose comb isntead of a single comb. so far he is a sweetheart though.

our other favorite is our first easter egger who will sit on my lap and let me pet her. we also have a very shy black sex link and a speckled sussex who hates to be held. we decided to get a few more to grow out since we would eventually have to rehome the roo. so we got last week another easter egger, a buff orpington(hopefully) and plan to get a black australorp. the kids and I had fun naming them and my husband enjoys letting the bigger ones out of the coop every morning. So we have Popcorn the roo, Lucky Marsala the speckled sussex, Princess Sofia the First(Sofie) the easter egger, black sex link is Coffee. the new easter egger is Truffle and the new buff is Macaroni. the future australorp is gonna be Blackberry Lollipop(lollipop). I never imagined how addictive chikens would be or how much personality they would have.-lisa

Does anyone know of anyone who will be bringing a pair or trio of SQ Seramas to the PNPA show next weekend? I have one chick that I hatched from shipped eggs. There was one more that hatched, but unfortunately, she jumped out of the brooder one day while I was gone and got too cold. It was quite upsetting, and now I have a lone Serama that I can't put with the other chicks because she's too small. I just need some buddies for her when she gets older as Seramas don't do well with other breeds.
Thank you.

I don't know what will be for sale at the show, but the following weekend there will be a few people bringing Seramas to the Oregon Spring Poultry Swap at the Clackamas County Fairgrounds on Saturday April 27th 11am-4pm. :)

Nice coop and birds, chickens are so much fun and full of personality. I'm thinking of getting a couple buff Orpington chicks at Costal, I've never had one but after reading about them on here I really want some. Hopefully they really turn out to be Buffs! Enjoy those chickens :)
