Oregon

Tomorrow, 2/19, is the 4-H Poultry Learning Day at the Washington County fairgrounds (in the 4-H building). Registration begins at 12pm. The cost is $1. Kids can bring their own birds if they wish as long as they aren't still peeping. Sessions include preparing for a show, showmanship, judging eggs, judging meat and bird health. Everyone interested in 4-H is welcome. There will be practice birds there, too.

I haven't decided if we're going to take birds. I don't have a good place for quarantine after, which I assume I should do. I'd like to take one of the big black cochin pullets and a silkie but I probably won't.

I wish I'd read this a couple days ago:rolleyes: I would have loved to take my son, I've been trying to get him interested in something other than video games. We live in Aloha, just a few miles from the fairgrounds, maybe next time.

It was lots of fun. We learned a lot. I even had a non-chicken child with me and my ds and he enjoyed it. They just handed him a chicken and he learned how to handle her for showmanship.
