ChickesRoseburg, you might want to check out the plastic deer mesh at the Co-op. It's more expensive but stronger than the fruit tree mesh. 7'x50' if I remember correctly. Holds up much better in wet snow. I use it to cover the cat enclosure but have to use hardware cloth for the chicken run. A few years ago Jerry's had the best price for 4' wide rolls and special ordered it for me.

I could not help myself! Coastal had straight run assortd bantums and I got these 2. No idea what they are! But they are so cute! The black one is really tiny and has a face muff. They both have dark skinned legs. Any guesses?

I can't tell if your chick is yellow or off white. Ancona? Or maybe a Polish chicken mix? She sure is CUTE!

The one on the left looks like it has a winter face (muff) so it could be an Ameraucana cross. The black one is too hard to see. I have a silver one very similar to your silver.

Weird. Most Easter Eggers are chipmunk patterned, not solid...trying to think of what else would have beards / muffs and no feathers on their legs that you could find at a feed store...

I had a little silver banty like that and it grew out of it's cheek muffs.. it turned out to look like a game hen-- not ever sure of actual breed.. but yeah. Easter eggers can come in an assortment of colors with beards and muffs.. I purchased 3 buff "ameraucana" this year from Wilco... (couldn't resist) they are all still solid two weeks later.. I've also had Belgian Quail D'Anvers who are partridge or quail colored but I know they have other D'Anver breeds out there, tht'd be my best guess..They have dark legs, they're muffed and bearded and they're bantams..

What Coastal did they come from? You can call the store and find out what hatchery they order from, and then we can figure it out from there...
