My Name is DeAnna...and I am a hatching addict.
Oh boy...I messed up! I ordered more eggs than I have room for in my incubators (yes that was plural). I don't know how I miscalculated, but I did and now... what to do?!?!
I have two incubators, one is going and won't hatch until the 23rd. My eggs are all due here Wednesday or Thursday.
I have some slots not filled in the incubator that is going, but not enough and they would likely get knocked around while the chicks hatched. Plus the raised humidity would be an issue.
What is a staggered hatch?
Any ideas?
Help!

HI NEIGHBORS!!!*group responds* "Hi, DeAnna!"![]()
Ouch! If you were a little closer, I'd loan you one of my incubators. My in-laws are over there near Colton, but unfortunately I'm on the dry side and not planning a trip over there in time to help. If you can't easily lay your hands on another 'bator, perhaps you could hold off on starting the new batch? I've heard that they don't have to be done immediately, but the successful hatch rate supposedly slowly declines with time. Of course, who would want to do that, right?
Hi Shannon, welcome! I live southeast of Pendleton. Did you make it out to the County Fair last week? I couldn't convince any of my family that they really wanted to brave the 100+ degree weather to go check out the animals. My poor Ameraucana girls sure have been panting!Must be the extra facial 'whiskers' that make 'em hotter!![]()

Thanks.. appreciate the thought =) I certainly don't want to mess with an already difficult hatch rate given the money I spent on shipped eggs that are already risky enough. I can't believe I did this! I probably do need a 12 step program now.
