I have one cuckoo maran but she is not very good looking when we got her she was in bad shape, me and my girl are gonna get a couple more..

Is there anyone in OR who has marans???!!!
I have BCM. After 5 years of hatching/culling I have one breeding pair and 7 of their daughters, 5 of which are POL so not sure what egg colour is going to look like yet. Just started collecting eggs again for hatching, 7 are at day nine, setting 7 more tonight and will do several more settings every nine days for a while. Let me know what you are looking for,

There is also a gal named Heather who has them...I don't know her BYC name though. She is posting on the Fall swap page on FB.

Anyone in Oregon raise White Midget turkeys? Possibly interested in Chicks or maybe hatchings eggs. Any experience raising them in the same coop as free-range chickens?

I just got started with midget white turkeys. I had to buy hatching eggs to get them. I'm on a waiting list for more eggs for when the birds start laying again this fall.

I know there is a woman in Washington that raises them, but her breeders came from a hatchery, so I haven't contacted her.

I'm not sure about the chicken idea. Turkeys are extremely trusting and chickens can be downright vicious bullies. If my midget white was a chicken, he'd be a small chicken. They are not big birds. Maybe you can find someone who has actually had them raised together and they would know the answer,

Thanks! Just beginning my research..............

I do not have Midget Whites... have Royal Palms, but mine are housed with my chickens. The only problem I have had was when I let my female turkey hatch her own eggs out. I had to make a pen in the coop for her and the babies. I had trouble keeping chickens out of it and Momma in. We finally pulled the babies and put them in a brooder for a couple weeks. Then they went into our "chicken jail" which is in the coop. Everyone can see each other but can't get to one another. They stayed there for a few more weeks and then we let them out with everyone else. They do fine. In the evening at roosting time..everyone kinda of waits to see where the turkeys are going to roost..and then they settle in on the other half of the roost. I think as long as there is plenty of room for everyone and it's not crowded, it works.
