No goats are too picky and will mostly just eat the tender shoots and leave the canes. If ya really wannna get rid of them hogs are the choice. See hogs will eat it all AND take the roots to. They will leave a nicely tilled and fertilized garden patch and ya put the pigs in the freezer. After butchering of course.

I've been reading about this! Put some piggies in the woods on our property, let them eat the blackberries, etc., and maybe they'll learn to hunt truffles while they're in there. Then we'll all be RICH!!!

Sorry for barging in on your thread, but I saw this and wanted to let you know about American Guinea Hogs. They are wonderful small pigs, friendly, good foragers, hardy, easy to keep, never aggressive and fun to have around. They eat star thistle, poison oak etc. And their meat is exceptional.
I raise them in Northern California. I have 5 gilts left for sale. I have reduced their prices to $100-$250 each, depending on the piglet. I usually charge $350. for top quality registered breeding stock. These girls are too big to ship by plane now but can be transported by ground. PM me for more info.

You all are so lucky to live in OR! I love it there!
