In most livestock circles, Purina is accepted as the highest quality, or one of the highest. You never consider feeding expensive show rabbits anything other, or at least I don't, so that is what I stick to for all.

Purina has very high salt content which is not very good for button quail. I primarily breed the buttons and coturnix so quality overrules all. When I started feeding Manna Pro, and have been consistency, my birds are in great condition, laying, happy, and in great health overall.

Here's 1 Thing To Always Keep In The Back Of Your Mind While Reading On Here---- What Works For Me May Not Work For You! Whats The Difference You Ask? Well Lets Just Take Me And Robo For Example--- I Am At Sea Level And In A Hot Humid Subtropical Climate 9+ Months Out Of The Year. Robo Is At Elevation With 4 Distinctively Different Seasons And Weather That Ranges From The Same As I Have To Below Freezing= There's Some Pretty Substancial Differences There And Thats Just The Environmental Easy Stuff. Add In Different Animal Husbandry Habits And Housing And Stressors... Things Get Pretty Varied And Fast Too. So Always Keep In Mind "what Works For Me..."

PERFECT CASE IN POINT-- ALEXANDRA HAS ALL THE MINI QUAIL TO WORRY ABOUT, WHEREAS I HAVE COTURNIX AND MONSTER BOBS AS WELL AS MANY SPECES OF PHEASANT--- ALL THESE THINGS COME INTO PLAY AS TO WHAT WORKS WELL FOR HER DOESNT DO SO GOOD FOR ME

THE MANNA PRO ALSO HAD A SMALLER CRUMBLE TO IT WHICH AGAIN SUITS HER MINI QUAIL BETTER, WHEREAS MY BOBS WOULD WALK OVER TO THE FEED DISH TILT THEIR HEADS SIDEWAYS TO BETTER SEE WHAT I HAD JUST DEPOSITED IN THERE THEN GET THAT LOOK OF "AW MAN, GRUEL AGAIN? COMON' GET ME SOMETHING REAL TO EAT"

DR FRANKENSTEIN'S CORN IS WHAT YOUR BUYING AT THE GROCERY STORE

Since up to 90% of all soybeans grown are now GMO, the frankenfoods are in your critter feed. As for the frankenfood in the stores...well now you know why I don't eat processed foods

BUT ON A DIFFERENT POINT- GENETICALLY SELECTED ISNT NON ORGANIC, THEY ARE ORGANIC, JUST SELECTIVELY CULTIVATED FOR SIZE AND PRODUCTION

I live in Tennessee, and the people at my feed store are idiots. They don't know what they sell. They said that the medicated feed was the exact same thing with another vitamin added. I tried to explain why I didn't want it, but they wouldn't listen. They also wouldn't order the non - medicated version. That's why I had to go to Dumor for a while. My Tractor Supply won't carry Purina Gamebird feed, so I gues I'll have to use medicated.

ROBO IF YOU SPEND TIME HERE ON THE FORUM I THINK YOU'LL FIND THE STATEMENT ABOUT FEED STORE STAFF IS PROBABLY A PRETTY SAFE BET NATIONWIDE. FEED STORE STAFF ARE RETAIL SALES FOLKS--- NOT BREEDERS OR FARMERS. THEY ONLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TOLD BY RETAIL SALES FOLKS HIGHER UP THE TOTEM POLE THAN THEY ARE. PERSONALLY IF I WERE TOLD OH IT JUST HAS MORE VITAMINS IN THIS CASE I WOULD BE IN THE MANAGER'S OFFICE, IF THAT DIDNT SOLVE IT I WOULD GO HIGHER UP THE TOTEM POLE( REGIONAL MANAGER OR OWNER) TIL I HAD EXHAUSTED IT OR GOTTEN IT STRAITENED OUT- THAT IS BLATANT NEGLIGENCE AND SEVERE IGNORANCE

GO TO PURIONA MILLS WEB SITE --- THEY HAVE A DEALER SEARCH OPTION ON IT--- TYPE IN YOUR ZIP CODE AND IT WILL SPIT OUT ALL THE PURINA DEALERS IN YOUR IMMEDIATE AREA. NUTRENA OR MANN PRO MAY HAVE SIMILAR AS WELL I HAVE NEVER LOOKED AT THEIR SITES

I called a different feed store and they said that they would order whatever I want, and match the other feed store's price which is $16 a bag. So I think that I'll switch stores. The only downside is that this store is 20 minutes away, and the other is only 2 minutes away. I guess I'll buy in quainities so I won't have to go every other week.
