organic/natural ways to get rid of lice/mites?

I read something on here a couple months ago about using pumpkins seeds as a natural mite/lice deterent???? I can't remember when it was. So grow those pumpkins this spring!!!!!

Ok, i'm new to this, but how do i know if they have mites or lice?

I've always sprinkled borax in with thier bedding (pine shavings.) It works wonders. I haven't had a problem with mites or lice at all this year
