Organization help, I have 36 eggs coming!

Hi, I would like some suggestions for organizing the 36 eggs I will be receiving. They are coming from 3 different sources and I want to keep track of their hatching. I can number them but I found that when I took them out of the turner I did not remember to replace them in number order. Any one have some ideas??

How about if you put (in pencil) "A" for all the eggs coming from the first source and "B" for all the eggs coming from the second source and so on. That way they can all stay grouped. Would that work?

The eggs that I have gotten are already marked with what they are going to be. Just keep a note of how you arranged them in the bator, and when day 18 rolls around try to put them in same order. Maybe marking them like Birdbrain suggested.

I've made strips of cardboard to divide the hatcher into sections a couple of times when I needed to keep eggs and then the newly hatched babies seperated. I make them tall enough to keep them from crawling over and attach them to the side with duct tape. Just make sure they aren't tall enough to touch the heating element.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. My propblem is I get nervous about moving the eggs and forget all sense of order. These suggestions will help alot!

I just put the same amount in!!!

I don't have an egg turner so

I took sterofoam egg cartons (different colors) cut them in 2 & cut bottom out to hold them up right (it will also make it easier to turn)

Can I use colored pencils to write on the eggs? I think I need to make lines from point to point so they can be identified as they get moved while hatching.I thought color coded would be the easiest to identify.

I put the first initial of the person or farm they came from and the date (1/12).. I then keep a calander by the bator write down the code for the eggs and what that code means. how many went in and when they go down to the hatcher.. then when they hatch I put the number of live chicks/unfertile eggs/or dead in the shell chicks so I have a future referance :O)
