I've got 7 ISA browns in my original flock & 2 that have integrated and just started laying. On more than 1 occasion now, the originals have attacked the eggs of the 2 new layers. Is this normal? Do they perhaps detect something wrong with the eggs? The new eggs are significantly lighter in color and smaller, which I think I remember being the case when the originals starting laying. Interested to hear about this.

How long have the new birds been integrated....and laying?
Id toss some white fake egg in the nests, and gather real eggs frequently.
