@RoostersAreAwesome, Here's the Silver Partridge girl. She's a mix of Buff Orpington/Barred Rock X RIR.

She looks so much like an Iowa Blue.

Her as a chick, which looks exactly like the description of Iowa Blues. They're described as a chestnut red.

The origin of the Iowa Blue is still a mystery, & I may have found a link, but nobody seems to agree.

It’s amazing how close to a purebred partridge she looks. I would have never expected that from her cross.

Her behavior fits exactly as what's described of the Iowa Blue too which is cool.

Orpingtons have been my favorite since my first Buffs years ago. I love their broodiness, calmness and their high production. There are so many varieties now very difficult to keep track of.

I would. But it’s your choice. It would be interesting to see what happens if you breed her to a pure partridge rooster.
