orpington color question

I have some lavender orpington babies and am wondering if i could use them to get blue or would i.need two.different colors than what i have?

No lav and lav u will get lav. If u breed to blue u can get blue but that's not the way you want to get blue. Black to splash 100% blue or blue to black 50% blue 50% black. Or splash to blue 50% splash 50% blue

Thank you....the genetics are so confusing to me....new to chickens....got them for my kids...but i thought i would get into breeding and the genetics but just cant seem to click with it

So what would you recommend since i have lavs to how i would breed to get the best or brightest lavenders

You need to breed lav back to black to improve the lav color and type.
