Orpington hen or rooster?

Cockerel as well, sorry. Nixie and Echo both. They look just like my Lav cockerel at same age, and I was saying the same things, lol. At least Ceto is a pretty pullet!

Thanks! Well, at least I can say that I have good instincts on determining the sex. I was thinking they both were cockerels but was hoping I wouldn't have to part with them. I do have another pullet, Calypso who is just as lovely. I guess 50/50 out of a straight run is about what to expect.

You're welcome! Wish it was happier news, lol. 50/50 is the general average, so yes, you did good! Sometimes we have better luck and sometimes it goes the other way, lol.
I think the biggest problem we all have is the wishing it is one sex or the other, so we don't want to see what they really are. I got 1 Lavender Orpington and I kept trying to say it was a pullet... He belted out his very first, and VERY deep, crow just this morning... sigh... ah, well, for me it just means another coop and pen. Very sorry you can't keep them, they are handsome fellows!!
