I have a hen that has somehow broken the tip of the feather off of one of her secondaries near the back of her wing. She is one of my 4-H birds and I was just wondering if this would be something that would Disqualify her? I have read articles about it sometimes just points being docked off. I have also read that a broken comb is more often to be docked than a broken feather since a feather can be just put away. However, I would like to know people's thoughts about what might happen as I don't want the embarrassment of being DQ'd.

Show rules differ and it depends on the severity. Honestly, take her to a show and see what the judges say. A DQ isn't an Embarrassment with a good bird overall.

Judges should recognize a broken feather from a fault. I don't think a DQ would happen, but maybe a point dock from the overall score.
