orpington laying lines

Hey all. I'm wondering if there's any on who still breeds the orpington's from way back that were supposed to have laid almost 300 eggs a year im jut starting my flock but I've seen on other threads that now, most of them only lay 180 or something low like that. but any way's if anyone has some of those on the Atlantic side of Canada id be interested in buying some egg's, fluffy's a big bonus, because you know... the standard.

I've heard of some production lines laying closer to 280 a year, but I don't know how accurate that is if they're as broody as people say they are. And unfortunately, I'm not sure where you would be able to pick them up, we don't have as many hatchery options here in Canada as the US, and unfortunately I'm a few provinces away so I'm not sure which ones cater to the maritimes. Maybe search up breeders in your province and ask them for an honest account of their stocks laying abilities until you find one that's closer to a true production breed?

Please spend some time researching chicken diseases before you start gathering birds from different places.

yea i know, i'm not planning on getting them for a few years i just knew it would probably take a while before i would be able to find someone who still bred them for laying. i still have a lot more reading up to do before i bring anything in from any where's lol.
