Hello guys
Today I'm going to buy some chicks...
I want a good breed that may be a good mother and hatch eggs.
Secondly, I want to ask if the Buff orpington or the silkie can mate with my rooster or just with one of their own breed?

My rooster:
700

.....
so what you say, orpington or silkie?
700

700

I say go with Orpingtons. One day I saw a picture of a dead fox so I looked at the caption and it said, quote, " This unlucky guy managed to break into a hen house with a newly made mother Orpington in it. Sucks to be him." Also I have heard of stories that people "couldn't keep them off the eggs". I'd definitely get Orpingtons. Also I'd probably get the bantam size. They are supposed to be an excellent flock chicken to and your rooster would most likely mate with them. Hope that helps.

Thank you a lot... Haha you're so funny :)
I'm actually thinking about buying male and female to save the clean line of the breed.
However, what do you think I'll get if Orpington and my rooster(in the pic above) mate? She may be bigger than him a little ... could it be possible?

Yes it would be smaller than the orpington yet bigger than the rooster and yes it would mate with the orpington because when I was a child I had a silver dutch rooster and we let him go in the laying chicken run and then we hatched a bunch of medium-sized mutt chickens that could lay good but still were pretty small. Hope that helped.
