Orpington Rooster ignoring Orpington Hen

Update: Nigel did manage to court the Orpington girl finally

However, I have noticed that she is very hard to please. Basically she will respond to his call when he finds a treat or something good, but when Nigel approach her from behind, and put one of his feet on her back like the way he approaches the other Hen he mate with, this Orpington Hen doesn't squat down, but instead runs (She is not a young Hen, she is over a year old). Anyway, I actually saw him with her, so I am optimistic... I will ahve to make sure it is consistent during the Springtime

So between Nigel and a Blue Orpington Hen, I have got few babies and two of them look exactly like Nigel when he was this age and one is Chocolate. I guess I didn't need a Chocolate Hen for Chocolate babies )




She has a lot of chocolate bar on her

than the picture shows as this picture from a week or so ago. So Two looks like Nigel (when he was a baby) and others look like their mom with little Nigel's marking
