Orpington Rooster temperament?

Hi, I am looking at possibly adding a Chocolate Orpington rooster to an order later this year or beginning of the next and I wanted to know how everyone's Orpington roosters turned out and any suggestions on raising them to be tame. My Orpington hens have been amazing and very chill, so I'm hoping for a rooster with a similar personality.

They all have their own personality, so there is no "guarantee" on temperament. My Orp roo was a gentleman and minded his manners around me always. As far as how to raise them, there are many options. I am hands off with my cockerels and roos, I do not feed them out of my hand, I do not carry them around, etc. I do expect them to mind my space and clear a path when I come in the run or chicken yard. If I need to do any spur trimming, or health checks, I do them on the roost at night. Just know that when you get a rooster your hens will no longer be yours, they will be his, just something to think about.

That's a very good point, definitely something to think about.
