New to the thread and Orpingtons. We just purchased this lovely pair of Blue Orpingtons. The pullet is English and the Cockerel is 1/2 Eng 1/2 American. We think they are lovely but let me know your thoughts.

My husband bought them from a guy in barnesville. I think he was very lucky to get such nice birds.

Our buff orp affectionately known as "big mama" now because she is so much bigger than our RIRs. This is when she first investigated her new coop back in the spring. She was the dominant hen in our little flock until we got our rooster a few weeks ago. She is still independant. The dynamic has shifted a little though.... Doesn't she look happy

Renie How do you tell which is which at this age? I'm knew to chicks but look forward to babies later this spring. Jen
