Hello! I don't have any chickens currently but I really hope to have a flock of buff orpingtons later and I was wondering what other breeds would work well in a mixed flock other than other varieties of orpingtons. I know that orpingtons are big and gentle-mannered birds so I've been looking at similar breeds such as plymouth rock, brahma, and cochin as potential flockmates (However, I've heard brahmas described as both aggressive and docile... so now I'm confused).
I was also wondering if orpingtons would do well with bantams such as silkies; bullying should be minimal with orpington's temperament but I wasn't certain.
Just seeing if anyone has experience with any of these birds, especially the beloved orpingtons.

My speckled sussex and barred rock are both good buddies with my buff orpington. I have an olive egger who' is also fine, and 2 easter eggers who ignore everyone else. Then I have a Welsummer who picks on everyone else, but I don't know if that's typical.
Strongly recommend the Sussex and Batred Rock

I have buff orpingtons and only had one polish. They were raised together from week one. At 5 months I had to rehome the polish. The orpingtons started pecking her crown to a bloody mess. After I healed her I tried reintroducing and they immediately started again.
