Orpingtons good breed to have around young children?

Buff Orpingtons are very, sweet, loving birds. Mine have actually tried to run into the house to follow me! As they were charging their way in, my cats were trying to get them! My favorite is a hen who comes running to me whenever she sees me, or even hears my car coming into the driveway. No matter where I go, she follows me.

I would be careful with a two year old around any rooster. Sometimes something can just trigger their protective instint and they could see something as a threat. My light Brahma rooster was great but he occasionlly saw my younger daughters sudden movements as a possible threat to the hens. We had to teach her to walk slowly and not rush at the hens suddenly. He was fine with the rest of us, and she is a teen now and takes care of her own small flock . You have to teach children how to act around them.
I have to say the Orpington baby roos I got from Noriko are so far very friendly and sociable.
They love to eat from childrens hands and sit on them. I think they are going to be nice docile roosters. They are from good stock and that can make a difference. They came from Hinkjc .I recently purchased a couple others from them that are very sweet too and we can't wait to get some of their buffs.

L&S Those pictures are so cute! Your son and the roos are adorable.
