I have 2 Orpingtons. One with no comb or waddles. She is about 18-19wks.I then have another bird that is younger that is more developed than the other.Red comb and waddles. It maybe about 14-16wks.This was a replacement for 2 cockerals that I returned. It doesn t act rooish.Doesn t look like the other roos I returned. No crowing. Is it a pullet and just developed quicker than the other?

Thank you!!No they are not Buffs they are supposed to be Splash. This is what the breeder told me.Could be white IDK

You have a pair there. Everyone forgot the age factor. At 12-14 weeks the boys would only just starting to get saddle and hackle feathers, so I am going by face development and by comparing the two. My girls don't get big combs and wattles that vibrant until POL.

At 14-16 weeks, the youngest age the OP mentioned, my roos are pretty evident.

I would say pullets, even though there is the comb difference.

Although I've never had Orpingtons, I have two Brahmas with a big difference in comb/wattle development since quite a young age.
Judging by comb and wattles, we thought our pullet was a roo.

Well, to make a long story short, "she" was the first to lay me an egg!

Therefore, I would say it's not always accurate to judge gender by comb/wattle development.

Good luck! And beautiful birds!
