Thank you for sending that link. I have the British Heritage Chocolate Orpington ANDDD it turns out the British breed vs a hatchery Chocolate Orpington takes VERY VERY long time to lay. Another member once raised the Heritage Breed and his did not lay before 30 weeks either. He said it took until 35-40 weeks! Who knew!

Frankly, I love it when they are delayed for egg laying and do not lay often -this means we have them a lot longer

My golden laced Wyandotte took 46 weeks to lay her first egg. I decided to not keep that breed.
