Orpingtons!

I am going to be putting some vasoline on our Roos combs tonight....and the SS Roo as well. That is really all I worry about with the Orps. I think summer time I will be putting in a mister for them to cool in.

Ah Speckledhen I so want a blue roo. That is what I will be looking to keep out of our chicks this year. Mostly blue hens and a roo. I seriously need to freezer camp or rehome this one black roo we have.

I have a mister system along my main bank of coops. I love it!

Yes hubby was just talking today of some modifications we need to do to our coop and my new caviary. I will be putting a list together and that will be there. Misters are a must for my little silkies also. Some of them went broody and ended up dying of heat this summer. It was not a fun time. I couldn't keep enough fans going. Only one Orpington hen did I have trouble with and she was the blue one. My blacks didn't seem to notice...so go figure that?

Hi! I have some orpingtons too! I have a blue roo, 3 black pullets and 2 buff pullets. My blue is very sweet to me, but a few weeks ago started acting roostery to my kids, so they arn't allowed in his pen anymore. He is just sweet as can be to mje though. I think maybe the kids just look like they "need" to be dominated or something. My pullets are as sweet as can be, the buffs we had since day olds and they will hop up on our backs or shoulders, the blacks we have had since they were 4 weeks old, and arn't quite as friendly, but they do get close and one will step up on a leg if you sit down next to her. I really like them, and am thinking about breeding and working towards the standard of perfection. I really like the look of the orpingtons! It was very fun looking at all of your pics here, very pretty fluffy birds!

Speckled Hen that roo is DROPDEAD SEXY!!!!!!!!! I have Buff Orpingtons, 9 hens and 1 roo. I really like the breed. Mine are friendly but not "pck me up and carry me around" kind of friendly. They live with the 5 BRs and all get along well.
