Orpingtons

Are there any splash / variations you can get from Buff Orpingtons to other Orpingtons.

I have BO, and want to try an new color, but I'd like to mix the colors to get different variations.

Or am I completely off base on how splashes are breed?

Splashes are a result of a double blue gene. They are genetically a black, but with 2 blue genes. A black chicken with one blue gene is a blue. None is just a normal black. Buff's don't work that way, they are a standard color like black.
