Orpinton or Marans??

Yea!! Got our first egg today!

Now the question is.....who does it belong to?? Lily- a 19 week old Lavender Orpington or Mimi- a 17 week old Marans. Its medium dark in color and a special tiny first egg about 1 1/2 inches long. And the best news is she layed it right in the nest box where it's supposed to be! Those wooden eggs seem to have done the trick!

I'd say Maran, an Orpington egg is much lighter

Maran...I don't have Maran's but I do have Orps(love them) and their eggs are alot lighter(A LOT).

We got our second egg today!!

It's Mimi our Maran's!! We actually got to watch her lay todays egg, so no doubt about who layed it. Woo Hoo!!
