Orps - what is typy?

Okay, I went out and took some pics of some cockerals and Roos. Also I couldn't show pics from feathersite, but you can google it and look. Also I will post a site that I think Christina gave me that has some very typey Orps on it. I am working towards these goals.
I kept this black cockeral who is very young yet. About 7 months He is looking very good. You can see how short his back is and looks like he will have the feathers low down when he reaches maturity. He will broaden out more I do have him with hens since last week

Now this is my mottle boy who will be 12 months in May. He is looking better type wise all the time.

This is a pic of blue boy today. His is large. Has great chest. Short legs. Great color. Might be a little squirl tail. Not enough shortness in back but turns out great looking chicks over the right hen. He will always have a home here no matter what.

Here I go again to look in the two brooders of orps and see if I might accidently have a Blue Boy and a Suede. Oh how I wish!

Funny note on the black cockeral. I thought he was a hen till he got about 5 months old. He was a very late bloomer. I thought I had myself a really large pullet there. Ha Ha.

All are very good examples of the breed however Blue Boy would be excused if he got a minor fault, you know, he is getting on in his years.....Cant browbeat old guys!

I love the little rump feathers on the boys and girls....the girls particularly, I call them the prooffoon thingy that the old Victorian women wore...the bustles if that is correct.

I got a black Catalpa pullet that looks liek that and she is huge. I believe she got a little longer legs but with finding a good blue roo with short legs can modify the offsprings to correct length.

Beautiful pics!

Julie, that black cockerel is stunning. Looks like he could be a perfect example of an orpington roo. And Cyn, Suede may not be perfect as far as the standard goes, but if he produces such gorgeous chicks, thats what important. And it seems from that look on his face, he's saying....So who says Im not perfect? Come here and say that to my face!
