Other Critters

My Aussie/Border Collie killed my daughter's favorite hen. She had gotten her in a corner and "played" with her too hard. We got all over her you know what for it and she hasn't touched a chicken since then.

One of our cats kills chicks and even killed a 3 month old pullet so I can't let anyone free range until they're close to being full-grown.

We had some dogs come onto our property and kill my entire flock.

I rarely let them out anymore because I am so worried for their safety. We also have a resident hawk on the property. I do let my Silkie rooster out often but he stays around the other chickens and our animals don't mess with him.

Mine dont free range(stealth city chickens)
But my barn owner has 2 cats, 4 young dogs, goats and a barn full of horses.
All get along really well. I think one of the pups hurt/killed a chicken. But there has been no carnage.

I bring my girls in the house randomly and my dog and cats treat the chickens just like any other pet. Even my Border Collie knows "No" and backs down. But then again he is a Border Collie and has agility and some herding training
