I am looking for some well known high quality reputable breeders that breed tsq sebastopols (any color), Buff/grey dewlap toulouse and possibly lavender/blue americans. I allready know about Holderreads and I love thier birds! but I am insearch of other well know high quality breeders, please if you can post a link to thier website and some pictures of your birds you have bought from that breeder (if you have bought from them) any input is greatly apreciated!

Holderreads no longer breeds Sebastopols

Our Sebastopols came from: Holderreads, CottageRose & Pips&Peeps

TSQ parents won't guarantee you TSQ goslings, just the chance for them. It would take purchasing many live goslings or dozens of hatching eggs to obtain 1-2 TSQ off spring.

Yea I do realize that not all will be show quality, but I figured the "small" breeder will have better birds than the big bird hatcherys, I am also mainly if possible looking for adults, and yea its sucks that holderreads discontinued the sebastopol geese I live only 2 hours away from them and have been thier before (to purchase a grey dewlap toulouse).

ChristineR, yea I talked to Jenifer and I would love to get a pair of sbacks from her, I have allready talked to her and she said that if she has birds avaible it is late in the year and she dont alwase sell her birds so I will waite and see if she will have anything avaible. I have seen Pips&Peeps website before but did not realize they where popular breeders, you bought a pair of whites from her didnt you? congrats!

thanks for the advice CelticOaks an ChristineR!

Poultry, three of our girls came from Pips&Peeps last year. Come fall you will find juveniles offered from many breeders. I am not sure what you are referring to as "popular" for me I base a purchase on if I like the looks of the geese being offered, not how popular the person who is selling them is.

what I was trying to say is that I have only heard that name mentioned once or twice and I have seen thier site once and I'm new to breeding and I dont quite know what to look for in a show bird cause it is hard to study all that stuff and still get good grades in high school, so what I ment is I did not know that they where good quality breeders, I did not mean to make it sound like a popularity thing (like high school is), I really hope I did not upset anyone or hurt any fealings as I should not of used " popular", and if I did upset some one I am very sorry.

Poultry, nope just wanted to be sure we both knew what your meaning was. I enjoy all three of our girls from Pips&Peeps, and our pair from CottageRose as well. All are giving colorful babies, with only a few whites from the Pips&Peeps girls.

You deffinetly want to find fall juveniles if looking for something you can show. Jean (Pips&Peeps) would be a good source, as would a number of others. You should list a looking for ad on the Sebbie lovers forum so you can keep up come fall on what's available.

ok I was really worried I offended you or some one elce, but yea I am going to be looking for juveniles and would really like some colored ones, so I will defeniatly look into pipps&peeps, I was also looking into getting a pair or two from Jenifer Krause if she has some avaible his fall b I will keep my eyes open for any thing that comes avaible.

Nope never, but I like to ask what people mean with a phrase. I believe you joined the Sebastopol lovers forum also. Good place to look for fall sales. CottageRose will list on her sale page on her web site in the fall.

There are some exceptionally good breeders of Sebastopols on BYC. You'd do well to buy from them.

You've asked about ducks, too. Just mentioning it, because you might or might not know; very few serious poultry breeders will hang out on BYC. They don't have any patience for the "ducks in diapers" crowd. So, as a generalization, BYC isn't the very best place to look for show birds.

You can find quality show birds on BYC. It's just not the norm on a web site that specializes in pets and where the majority of birds are purchased at hatcheries. So you have to be careful with your research before you buy.

You just missed an APA sanctioned show near you. There is another one on October 20 in Salem. That is a good place to shop and to meet show bird people.

If you want to raise showbirds, I very seriously suggest that you purchase a Standard of Perfection, so you will at least know the basics of what you should be looking for.
