Other high quality breeders

Also, go to the Poultry swap on May 5 in Portland. Not a lot of show people there, but it is a bunch of super nice people. There are some show breeders, but they are not likely to have show quality birds there unless they were pre-ordered.

Still, it's nice to meet the local poultry breeders and hobbyists. Actually, come to think of it, I think I am the only one in the group with show ducks and geese, and I won't be there. Still, a good group to hook up with, and some super shoppers who can tell you where to get anything poultry connected.

Chicken Rustler will be there with his superb ironwork. It might not be too late to order a custom sign and pick it up in Portland.

I just found out about that swap meet, but my 16th birthday party is on the 5th I might have to cancel my party and go to the meet. I went to the Stevenson show and Thier was not much water fowl Thier for sale, I think I will be going to the October show. who do you recommend for runner ducks, and harlequin ducks?

I went to the Stevenson show to pick up my Sebs from Pips & Peeps. That's was only the 2nd time I've been there, but it seemed a lot smaller than the fall show. I just rushed through really quick since I had my geese in my car, but I was disappointed, too.

That was my second show I have been to and both of the shows had very little water fowl I have been fairly disapointed (prarie hatchers, stevenson). do you know where the poultry swap meet is on may 5th?

I thought I was going to show this spring, but we had a muddier than normal year and between teh mud and the spring mating, my ducks and geese looked like they'd been out at teh off road mud races. Very happy, but very disreputable looking. It's very possible that a lot of people didn't show because of the condition of the feathers on their birds.

I plan to show at the fall show, which, incidentily, has been moved to Salem Oregon.

I was wondering if that had something to do with it, but since I haven't been to many shows, I didn't know if that was typical. I'm happy the show has been moved to Salem. I think it's probably about the same distance for me, but Salem seems like it has more hotels, stuff to do, etc. Plus, I have to drive by the Woodburn Outlets to get there.

I think it's in Canby or Portland, maybe? I forget, but I know there's a thread on here for it, where people list what they're bringing or what they're looking for.

I breed American Buffs, white Sebastopols and Giant African Dewlap Geese. believe the Sebbies & Africans may be done laying for the year but the Buffs just started. I have eggs from them available now. I purchased them from Sheryl Butler in March at the Cascade Show. The goose won Best Medium Goose & the gander won Reserve Best Medium goose. They are large, very friendly and a gorgeous buff color. You're fairly close to me. I do show all of my breeders. I also breed towards the APA standard on my waterfowl (and on my chickens).
