OUCH! I bet that hurt...

They don't get treated like that everyday. That was from when the neighbors came over and asked if their kids could take pictures of them for their science project. I don't know why they needed quail, but I have a ton of pictures from it.

Mine get spoiled quite regularly. They get treats every day in their aviary and have a basking lamp in their house to encourage them to sleep there. They just curl up in a big pile in the corner by the lamp. I keep crunching eggs, though when I walk in. One hen just doesn't know about nest boxes I suppose.

I got an egg two days ago from my youngest brown hen and it was descent sized for a first egg. None since, though.

Blankets for the quail! That might save on my electric bill.

I know, they didn't want to take the pictures on my work bench because it was nasty. I said no to the kitchen table, but they put a towel over the work bench. Poor birds, I bet they got more attention that day then they have had in their whole lives. The kids used the blanket to keep them still.

All right Rozzie, now this one didn't hurt. Its baked bean size but a double yolker. (I got a new White laying).

Another 18g I thought sure was a double yolker, then a normal 17g and a 15g normal oh and the bean that didn't hurt.

So I probably ate the biggest chick from the big egg that I was supposed to mail before it got set, incubated or hatched. Sorry guy.
No it didn't start forming, I broke one of the tiny yolks getting the shell open and fighting with the white of the egg to get it out of the shell.

Fine, if you want to incubate and brood a baby quail the size of an ant. I'll send you one of those bean eggs next time she lays one.
I have to put the chickens up now, so I'll go check and see if she's up to laying another one of those hugh eggs so soon.

Oh no, now Rozzie will probably try it. Just to see.

Yes she did, maybe this one won't be a double yolker.

ROFL Nope, not me. Not one that small. I get worried enough messing with button quail babies because they are so small. I can't imagine one that tiny.

Ok, so if I send JJMR the bean sould I send the 21 g one I just brought in from one of the Brown pens. Ya think. Wonder if its fertile> That is my biggest yet.
I suppose I could be nice, who knows

Ya, I'm gonna do it. Send em both, by golly.
