Keep off that foot so it can heal....My wife dropped a 45LB. Dumbbell on her big toe.....about 1 month ago.....Her nail just now fell off and still kinda hurts....Good luck to you and hope u feel better soon.....ouch!!!!!

ouch, some of you have worse stories! being stepped on barefoot?!?! i think i would lose my whole foot!! but i'm afraid of losing the nail, ewwww.

I worked at a horse camp when I was 16. I was leading the trail ride on a big Morgan/draft horse cross named "Pandora". Well, I yell out, "Does everyone want to canter?" and yes, so we get going and Pandora trips in the sand and does a somersault! She landed on my leg, but it was soft sand and we were both OK. The othe person took over the trail ride so I could walk Pandora back to the stable and check her out. While unsaddling, she stepped on my big toe and LEANED ON IT! She would NOT get off, no matter how hard I pushed! Took over a year for that toenail to grow out! Believe me, I FEEL FOR YOU!

What happened to me once was I dropped a rock on my big toe.The problem was that the nail broke the skin under my toe so the blood tried to come out but the nail was still there so it coused alot of pressure.that was mainly the pain of it.So after a week of induring this my dad finally took a needle heated it up and burned a hole in my tonail.It felt soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!It just gushed out and after that I could put my shoe on!!!

This is an oh so familiar story. I have a lovely draft mare that once broken eight bones in the top of my foot on accident. I gimped around for weeks before going to the doc. Just go visit the doc just in case alright? Better safe than sorry!
