I have been in love with barns and old buildings since I was a little kid. I would spend hours in the loft building forts out of the haybails. Those were the days... Coop looks great..can't wait to see it when it's finished!

Our coop is going to be 11 feet x 11 feet. We were originally going for a 11 foot x 20 foot coop, but found out any building over 12 feet in any dimension must be permitted and then becomes a taxable building...so we opted for something a "tad" smaller. Once the roof is finished, the top measurement will be something like 11 feet 10-inches or something....very VERY close to 12 feet!! I hope my 7 little guys & girls will be happy in there!!

Thank you all for such wonderful comments!! I can't wait to post pictures of the FINISHED project, especially since the "kids" are moving in on the 16th...we still have a LOT of work to do!! Here's to getting it all done tonight and tomorrow!!

Wow! I would not have known that! I was planning something similar for a breeding coop, 25x15. I guess i'll have to find out what is permited in our area. thanks

Here is the photo of day three!! We made a MAD dash to get some paint on before the rain came in last night!! Hopefully Day Four will be putting windows in, doors on, interior walls in (and painted) and the pop door built and functional (it's going to be a draw-bridge!!)
