4x3 is the footprint of the floor, 2' tall at shortest, 3' at highest. 4x8 of ground around/under it. Pics later (tomorrow) should help.

Well I'm glad it's bigger than I thought, but that's still too small for 10 chickens. The square footage recommendations are 4sq ft/bird inside, and 10sq ft/bird in the run. So a 4x3 coop would hold 3 birds, maybe 4 at the most.

that roof is sooooooo cool i love it! Great idea! i just bought some clearensed shingles for my coop, $2 a bundle ! the are very pretty as they were special order shingles and someone just returned their extras.

I love the roof ,and what did you put between the seems ?.What part of Texas are you from ? We have alot of beer cans,and maybe Ill try that . Post more pics .

Well, the chicks came, and despite the unnaturally cold weather here in TX, they are all healthy and happy.

They were indoors for a few days while we wrapped up the coop, and are now in their home...

Back with roof on:

For now its in the garage so we can easily check on them and control/check temps.. as soon as they are big enough to do some outside stuff, we will move it into the backyard.
