Our chickens have had bad things happen (2 Silver laced wyandotte)

How do their crops feel? Soft, hard. Doughy?

Most of my chickens are fine, it's just one I have had issues with. It feels doughy and soft. Not liquidy.

She leans her head back and moves her throat a bit. My chickens do that quite frequently.

She does that every day, I don't know why.

Ok, doughy is not good. Can indicate sour crop. But soft is normal. Check her first thing in the morning. You want a flat, empty crop. If it feels doughy in the morning then it could be sour crop. Have you noticed a smell?

I can't tell the difference. I have picked her up and didn't smell anything.

can you seperate them incase I'm wrong?

have a dog crate you can put them in away from the rest of the flock?

in the morning their crop should have emptied from not eating. If you touch it, it feels deflated, but when its full its usually firm.
