In mid-January my family adopted 12 chickens from a local shelter that had rescued them. We have never had chickens before but it has been an amazing experience. We have done alot of research and I believe we have been able to identify their breeds. We have 3 EE, 1 Amerucana, 3 Leghorns and 4 Aussie hens, we have one rooster who I believe is a EE but not 100% positive.
They started laying eggs 3 weeks ago, we get anywhere from 4-7 eggs a day, I don't think they are all laying yet. We get brown, white and various shades of green eggs. Chickens are wonderful.

Hi, and

Yeah, Piper and FancyPants are Easter Eggers. I have a pair who look a lot like that, and I loove FancyPants!

You're lucky to have shades of green though - The only green or blue egg layers on my farm are from my true Ameraucanas. My EE's lay light brown eggs.

Where's your 1 Ameraucana? I'd like to see her.
