Merry Christmas!

Thanks - Merry Christmas to you and yours, too - Extra treats for Thor!

From one Brahma lover to another.

This is the first year that we'll have my dad around for ALL the holidays, because he retired from the police department this past summer.

On Christmas Eve, it will just be my immediate family. We are planning to rent a movie and get Chinese food and just spend the night together. I have to work at the parrot sanctuary that morning, but the rest of the evening will be relaxing!

Christmas day we just stay home. We'll open gifts sometime in the morning and then at night we have steak pie and mashed potatoes. It's always sooo delicious! Sometimes my dad makes a fire, but mostly we just laze around the whole day. I do have to run into town to take care of a friend's animals christmas day, but that shouldn't take too long.

We did extended family last Saturday. My brother and his family came up last weekend as well so we did the big immediate family Christmas last Sunday. Theoretically on Christmas Day my parents, sister and her kids will come to my house for the day (BIL is a fireman and has to work all day). Unfortunately they are forecasting 1-3" of snow for us on Christmas Day. Generally our snow comes with ice too, so if it really does get snowy my family will stay home and I'll figure out how to amuse myself. The good news is that I have all the food here.

Since I was in charge of dinner (and since we have cooked the traditional meal a couple of times already), I decided to make all my favorites. We are having apple dip, mexican dip, rotel dip (do you see a theme?), meatballs with sweet and sour sauce, shrimp, sausage balls, homemade chex mix and eggnog cookies. If no one shows I shall still eat like a little pig.

Enjoy your day with honey, Gritsar (or Gritstar as my fingers insist on typing)!
Merry Christmas!!

Quiet Christmas at home. DH is home for 2 weeks - last trip home was Oct. He loves turkey so turkey it is with all the trimmings. Merry Christmas to my BYC family.

I think I'll be putting together another grow-out coop/pen. Some of the chicks in the ginormous brooder really need to get out of there, especially that early crower!

Then I'll be refreshing the pine shavings in all the coops.

Probably eating too much chocolate throughout the day. I do plan on watching some DVDs during the weekend.
