Our cockerel has no interest in our hen at all. He just mates with my slippers (indoor shoes). I have now had to donate my slippers to him otherwise I walk round with a chicken hanging off my foot! LOL !
Anyway my question is..... If he does not bother our hen at all, will we need to separate them? They are 12 weeks old.
Thank you.

Just make sure she does not wear slippers.

Welcome to BYC,
If he's only bothering the slippers, I'd separate him form the slippers. I can't imagine what the chicks would look like. They are young yet it may be a month or more before he bothers the pullet. Then you can see if it's too much for her.

as he gets older he will find more interest in the hen untill then id wouldnt separate..... Those must be some mighty fine slippers lol.

UPDATE:- Our cockerel (Korma) is nearly 2 years old now and he still mates with all of our slippers!! He also loves shoes or even just socks!! He jumps onto our feet as soon as we let him out in the morning LOL! ........ I guess he just loves feet :)
It's a little bit embarrassing when friends come round and he hangs of their foot.... but they are getting used to it! LOL
He looks after our hen and tells her where the food is etc but he has no interest in mating with her!
The good thing is that we have not had to separate them at all and they live very happily together :) (We only have the 2 of them).
I'm guessing that our Cockerel's "Foot Fetish" is not very normal !! But he is still sooooo lovely :)

What kind of chicken is he? I've been wondering if certain types of chickens are prone towards this.
My Rhode Island copulated in my shoes today. They now are slimy and i find it a bit gross.
I'd like to discourage this.
