Thank you! I have to admit...I've wondered about them roosting on the nest boxes myself....I think we're going to give it a go and see how things turn out.

My husband deserves all the credit...it was his brains! He does this sort of thing for a living (on a much larger scale) so I had quite an advantage here!

We're very proud! And to think I asked for just something small and modest.....this big thing was HIS idea.... (of course when he complains about it, he calls it "MY fancy chicken coop")

That part we're not sure on yet! They aren't secured down yet! We've been debating that part....we'll figure something out! I think I may just go in and look tomorrow, for ideas...because that's one of the few little things we have left before the chickens are introduced to their new home...which I'm hoping to do Saturday morning. I'm picking up the shavings tomorrow......I had some, but with two donkeys in stalls right now (one having a "maternity ward" at night, the other on stall rest from an injury), I've been going thru shavings much more than normal. So the shavings I'd set aside for the chickens are gone......

Anyway.......I welcome ideas if anyone has them....but for right now, we do not have a plan for locking the window guards down. I think I'm just going to go in and look at our options.....and go from there.
