Thanks for your comments. Those are the same dimensions we have planned to build, so I am eager to find out if it is suitable for 4.Very Nice and SIMPLE. Most plans get just a little to cumbersome and fancy (= expensive).
I am guessing that it is 4' w x 4' d x 3' h plus leg height about 30" (???)
Good job. Thanks for the pictures.
the coop is 4'x4' and I currently have 4 juvenile Silkies. However, they have a pretty large fenced in area of our backyard that they free roam during the day. Also I'm pretty sure 2 of the Silkies are cockerels, and we want pullets only so those may have to go back to where we got them from.Great-looking coop and much on the order of what we are building soon. The pictures help me visualize the process. Can you please tell me the dimensions and how many chickens you plan on housing there?
Thank you!!!I really love your coop!! I can't wait to show my husband! Very, very nice!!!![]()
Yes, we are keeping hay down, so we can just scrape out the hay and replace it every so often. And thank you for the compliments on our coop! What an attractive and functional coop! I really like the way the whole back opens up for access and cleaning. On that note, you might want to consider putting some sort of vinyl floor over the wood to make cleaning easier. You can get scraps of flooring from flooring stores or some place like the Restore (Habitat for Humanities thrift store) that would reduce your scrubbing and scraping by quite a bit.
Haha, yes that is a GTO...That's my dad's car. He and my fiance are the ones who came up with the design and built the coop from scratch with me. I can never remember, but it's either a 66 or 67 GTO and he's done a ton of engine mods to it. The appearance is pretty much completely stock and original though. That's how he wanted it. He also drives a pro mod drag car...Here's their website... www.lilredcorvette.com . It's a little outdated but if you're a gearhead you might appreciate it.Well designed and built coop.Kind of interested in the car too, Is it a GTO? How about a couple pics of that too. Gearhead days just seem to never go away.![]()
