Our Coop

My husband designed and built this. The frame is post and beam with wooden pegs, the outside is board and batten, and the roof is metal. It has soffits that open up during the warmer months to let more air in, and we can prop the window open as well. These pictures are from when we first got our chicks in January. He's since added a loft, roosts, feeders, and a waterer inside. We have a ChickenGuard automatic door opener/closer that we really love. These pictures were taken right after it was finished and we had baby chicks. Now it's full of 15 chickens!

Beautifully crafted. FYI, you absolutely want ventilation open in all temperatures, even winter, as you want moisture to escape.
