Our coop

This is our mow n grow coop. She will house six chickens eventually. Currently she has two pullets that are almost 6 months old now and laying two a day

Babies are only 4 weeks old so wont be intergrated untill they are 16 weeks. Then we will get two more babies.

I feel the need to build a bigger coop but wanted your opinion on what I have. The girls are in the coop most days with a few hours of free ranging a day.









Beau is the king of the chickens. Our ladies worship him and follow him everywhere.

Nice, but yeah, you are going to need a bigger coop.

It's nice to have them get those greens. I had to mow the lawn yesterday to get greens for the five week old chicks and they just devoured that grass.

We never get snow

... Was thinking of making a play area for them with a tunnel from the pop shute to a larger fenced in play area. We don't have preditors like you do in the states and we live in suburbia. Biggest problem is our toy poodle todd who is yet to learn to be afraid of the "coloured" chickens. White chooks scare the crap out of him LOL.

I had to giggle a bit. You are asking people on here if you need a bigger coop? Lol. I think that is the #1 thing everyone wants on here. You would have to look long and hard to find anyone telling you not to make a bigger coop.

Your yard is such a lovely green. And beautiful chooks!

Yes I know everyone here is building a bigger coop. I am told though chickens will drink out of a muddy puddle and as humans we give them too much. HAHA, coming from my 85 yr old grandad who thinks chooks are great egg source. He showed me pix of his coop LOL one roost under a bit of tin in the corner of the yard with a old milk crate box for them to lay in. They were the ultimate free range and were never penned. All his chooks live for years and after three they produce daily two eggs each. Go old eggers LOL.
