Bit late to the party, but welcome to BYC. I'd agree with the no rooster thing—male animals are testosterone filled and unpredictable. I am not anti-rooster (I have 8 myself) but in your situation it would be quite wise to only keep hens.

It is Adorable (the coop, not the Roo) I think more kids should get this 'training'

Our town has a coop too for the Elementary kids.
