Our first Biddies have arrived!

Corey, I am expecting a shipment of chicks from Ideal next week, they are shipping out on Weds and say they will arrive on Friday. I have seen a couple of people comment that they arrived sometimes in one day.
How long was the shipping on yours?

I got mine from Meyer Hatchery they sent them out on a Tuesday and I got them on a Thursday. I have never ordered from Ideal so I don't know how fast they ship. I doubt it will be in one day, maybe overnight if you are close to the hatchery.

I don't think mine would hold that many once grown as its about 5x3 and 42" high as that was the height of the banister posts. I have 10 in it now and they are at 5 weeks, and it could easily hold 20 currently and probably for another 3 weeks. That is just a guess, all mine are standards. I think it would work good as a grow out pen. It did turn out a little heavier than I thought it might, but I can move it fairly well.

The total price for the Coup with new materials was right at $100 - $130. If you used scrap lumber it would be less. The top corrugated roof panels were 8 ft x 2 ft and about $12 each. You can find info on all of the other material by following the link below called 'The Portable Coup'.

I think if I built sometihng similar I would make it about 8 x 4 for more room. I don't think you mention on the page how tall it is. (If you did I am blind)
