Our First Broody and Incubator Hatch: a Diary

Pics
I've noticed the little dudes voice changing a bit recently. Today he's more honk than peep. I haven't really been able to peek in the coop when I lock up because it's dark when I get off work, but when I cleaned the poop board today there were small poops at the end furthest from the rest of the crew. I'll check tonight but I think he's finally made it out of the loft and onto the roost. This is a change from last weekend.

That honking is just a tune up for when he will start learning how to crow, and those first few time's that he does is going to really sound funny to you. But, it won't be long until he get's that right! :gigAfter that, it won't be long until he will be wanting to mate with the hen's.

Still growing?

Yes, he's not tall but he's built like a brick sh...well, you know. I can't lift and hold him and get on the scale any more so we have to wait until his next vet visit, next week Friday when he gets neutered.

Oopsie. Yes the little dude is still growing. He only has two feathers on his neck, I couldn't get a pic today he's shy

Well, like I told you before, if you ever decide that you don't want that boy anymore, bring him back to me, and I'll let you have the girl with the black eye that you liked. :lau

Edit: By the way, I think that you need a cup of my coffee over here to help you to wake up! :gig

:gigI need it! I don't get uninterrupted sleep and by the time the week is almost over I'm pooped! I lost track of what I was answering. Plus, I was working at the same time.
