So after lots of uncertainty about our rescue, River, she laid her first egg this morning! :celebrate My daughters were freaking out excited, and River is so proud of herself she was just talking and talking about it. When I picked up her egg, she got more excited and more vocal, and wanted to look at it and peck at it. Not sure if she was trying to check it out to see if it was ok, or if she was trying to eat it, because she does love to eat hard boiled eggs 😁

We are super excited to see how it tastes, but when we try new eggs we like to boil them for the first try, and I've been reading that if you plan to boil duck eggs, it's recommended to age them a week so the shells come off easier?

Or get an egg punch and a steamer. A six egg steamer on Amazon is less than 20 and comes with a punch. I love mine.
I found one! I'll probably wait to get it for now, since the Amazon shipping times are so slow now for the time being. They're overworked now as it is, so I can wait a while :D
