we are crazy excited... we got our first egg yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so thrilled and praised the laddies for a job well done, wish i knew who it was but I could not be more pleased

You're not crazy at all...that first ever egg is something to be ecstatically excited about.
I still get excited when the pullets start laying, and if it's an interesting cross for color, I even still take pics of them.
