Hahaha! I thought I'd be saving money, too but nope. Much cheaper to buy from the grocery store but those eggs are not as rich looking or tasting...and the chickens are raised and treated deplorably.

Lovely egg! I can't wait until my pullets start laying. I know what you mean about expensive eggs. My hens would have to lay golden eggs to make up for all that I've spent on them so far. But that's okay, I didn't get them to save money. I just wanted to be slightly more self-sufficient and to have eggs from happy healthy chickens.
