THANK YOU! I'M SUPER STOKED! Unfortunately I had to give it to my grandson. He caught me on the way in.
Black Australorp I think we have 4 breeds. But the books say they lay by 19 or 20 weeks to 6 months or something. Lol
We have Sapphire gems,
Lavender Orpington (?)
And
Americana Easter eggers
Along with our black australorps.
We got them memorial weekend.
So we're right at 5 months.

Beautiful birds!

It's a little lighter than my Australorps laid so it COULD be one of the lavender orpingtons. You have several birds looking ready to lay!
I am betting you will see more eggs from additional birds this week!

I looked for one yesterday because three of my chickens came running out of the bushes after doing a very big chicken Bock!. Totally adult chicken Bock Bock! I thought something was either after them or someone had just laid an egg. Never saw critter run,
I searched the bushes and never found an egg but that doesn't mean she didn't lay one yesterday.
I was afraid I'd have a problem that they wouldn't lay in the nesting boxes but that's where it was! I'm pretty excited to go out there in the morning.
